CNC Machine Operator

Job Description:

  • Setup of machine and materials for proper and accurate fabrication of part.
  • Read and interpret shop orders, including drawings.
  • Verify correct raw material or “work in progress” material is being used.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures when handling raw or finished materials, including while loading and unloading from the machine and while transporting materials through the shop.
  • Operate machine with proper guarding in place and ensure guards are replaced after setup.
  • Report any damaged guarding, tool holders, tools etc.
  • Develop and monitor sequences for tooling arrangements, speeds, and feeds in accordance with materials to be machined, the type of machine and its capacities.
  • Setup, load, and unload machines for milling and rolling processes.
  • Maintain quality control and inspect machined parts to ensure job specifications are maintained.
  • Lead and support initiatives related to continuous improvement to bring the best solutions to our customers (cost, quality, delivery, health, safety & environmental performance).
  • Additional related duties may be requested from time to time by our VP-Plant Manager and our Assistant Shop Manager.


Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with CNC machining, machine shop processes, and machine tools, including strong familiarity with metal cutting methodologies.
  • Requires basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills within a team environment.
  • Must be an independent, self-starter with a willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions.
